Modern varicose treatment

Dr. Flor has specialized in the surgical treatment of veins for twenty years and can offer the entire spectrum of common procedures, from vein stripping to ultrasound-directed foam sclerotherapy. In practice, the use of the endolaser in combination with microsurgery has proven to be an optimal procedure. Dr. Flor has been using this method very successfully since 2001.

Diagnosis

It is important to identify and treat venous disease at an early stage to avoid complications such as phlebitis and life-threatening thrombosis.

In the first place of the treatment concept is a precise diagnosis by means of color ultrasound for the visual representation of affected veins and leaky venous valves. Based on this "mapping", a therapy tailored to the patient can be carried out.

The Operation with an Endolaser

Using ultrasound control, a laser fiber is inserted into the vein, and the affected vessel is obliterated from the inside by light with a special wavelength. The procedure can be carried out on an outpatient basis. In cases in which several systems are affected, it is usually done on an inpatient basis.

Advantages of minimally invasive surgery

The procedure is carried out under local anesthesia, if the patient so wishes, even in twilight sleep. This makes it suitable for high-risk patients. The operation can be carried out painlessly and without scars and brings very good results over the long term.

With conventional methods, only one vein is often operated on. We have four stem vein systems, and the minimally invasive method allows us to treat all at once if necessary.

After the operation

The patients can get up on the day of the operation and go about their normal everyday activities. The dressing is changed the next day and an ultrasound check-up is made after a few days. It takes a few more weeks for certain hardenings to disappear, but after that you usually have an excellent result.

The healing of your venous disease is just as important to us as the aesthetics of your legs.
